Campaign Fundraising

Who says bar graphs and numbers have to be dull? My latest sleep-deprivation experiment is finally complete, check it out! This one is a new personal favorite of mine.

And in light of youtube's eXtrEmE compression, here are some of my favorite stills.

If a higher quality version of the short is posted, I'll update things here.

Oh, and I never posted the McCain short I did. So here we go:

The Other Side of the Coin

A narrative this time!
Written & directed by the lovely Rae Contreras, this short has been in the works since August, but I animated 90% of it in the last week and a half. The last 45 seconds were done in 48 hours, no sleep...listening to Swedish math metal repeatedly, and somewhere in there I cut all my hair off.
The movie still needs sound design, but in the meantime, peep these still frames. I'm very pleased with the results. Some of my best animation yet.

Hillary v. Obama!

I've been busy this month! Two (2) new ones, check em out.

Barack Obama:

Hillary Clinton:

If you're tired of what will probably become a giant flaming-shit-talking-fest on the youtube comment boards, here are some pretty pictures to enjoy (a couple of my favorites at least).
It's a shame youtube compresses the bejesus out of these.

I really like this one when it's moving, but with a freeze frame you can enjoy the 'venus de milo' negative space between the two of them. Their expressions were taken from completely different photos.
Monty Python, anyone?

And of course, Hill-Dog.

The Super Bowl short is blowing up youtube! Check it out below.

The Super Bowl

Just cranked out this short on the cultural aspects of the Super Bowl. Not bad for a 2 day production schedule! Just wait until tomorrow...

In Memoriam: Cambodian Midget Fighting League

In 2005, a bored journalist concocted a fake news story to amuse his friends. It centered around the 42 members of the fictional Cambodian Midget Fighting League taking on a lion--and losing in 12 minutes. The article escaped into the ether of the internet and many news sources began reporting it as fact. Check out the original article here. One of my homeboys (who didn't discover it was fake until just recently) has adopted the name for his fantasy football league, and asked me to do an illustration.
About a year ago I spent about 6 months working as a rotoscope artist on Lions 3D: Roar of the Kalahari for IMAX 3D, and fortunately for me I still have lion-shapes saved in muscle memory. Although now that I look at it, the lion's head looks more like a great white shark, which could quite possibly make it the Most Frightening Animal Ever. I think a run of t-shirts may be necessary.
